Organics or Natural? Understand the language & the LABELS!

In the days of yore, we march towards desired skin & hair loads without realising the impact of toxic loads.

There’s no getting around the fact that you wish to be healthy and desire your skin & hair to look it’s the finest self, so you pamper yourself with every product available and carefully scrutinise your eating habits.

Loving and managing your hair or skin lies within your care routine. While choosing what to eat, we consciously avoid foods containing preservatives and fuel our bodies only with healthy ingredients. But are you as careful while choosing your care products too?

What does Organic Mean?

On the other end of the spectrum, “Organic” is one of the only claims you can be 100% sure about when it comes to skincare and beauty products. They bear an ‘Organic’ certification.

It’s natural to get lured by the ingredient portion of a particular product, but knowing where it comes from, how it is procured, processed, and placed on your shelf could be very powerful.

What does Natural Mean?

Personal care products stacked with chemicals and parabens can be associated with a wide variety of concerns like allergies, hormonal disruptions, etc. They have the term ‘Natural’ closely associated with them.

Difference Between Organic & Natural

While the beauty industry is saturated with skincare products that claim to be ‘Organic’ or ‘Natural’, both the terms are often used interchangeably but have different definitions and regulation policies. The labels all-natural safe and pure are too regulated, yet some natural and pure cleansers or toners have hazardous chemicals.

These ‘all-natural’ better-for-you formulas are easily accessible; there’s still quite a bit of confusion around the language used to describe them. Is it Organic or just natural? Is there a difference?

Natural Products

Organic Products

Natural Products are easy to come by, but not as easy to absorb as these can easily be procured and processed without any certifications. Organic is not a loose claim. In a nutshell, all or almost all of the organic product ingredients have been grown and processed under rigorous conditions.
Natural does not mean organic and comes with no assurance. Organic Products are 95% Certified and come with complete assurance of their process.
Natural is perceived to be just as healthy and safe as organic but has no certification. Organic products are 100% healthy and safe for usage as they come with certification.

Understand the Labels & Certification

To obtain an ‘Organic’ label, the product must comprise at least 95% organically produced ingredients, leaving an exception for salt and water.

That is why it is essential to probe the labels and not get overwhelmed just with the language. They do not contain genetically modified ingredients—a BIG NO-NO to pesticides, fertilisers,  herbicides,  antibiotics,  growth hormones, GMOs.

Plus, it’s CRUELTY-FREE!

Because hey, No bunny body should suffer for beauty.

Be one less person harming the environment!?
